Bare Tour Day 4

bare_blogtour260sqOn Bare Tour Day 4 we’re delving into deep dark themes of Bare with a post at Prism Book Alliance about toxic masculinity and its effects, as well as a post on the dangers of conversion therapy at ForbiddenFiction.com.

Though there is plenty of seduction and romance in Bare, the main character, Ev, struggles most with these two issues. He’s haunted by the ever-looming threat of being taken against his will to suffer conversion therapy, as his cousin has already done. He’s pressured to conform to others distorted expectations of what a real man is. These are two issues that are not just confined to the book, but poison all of our lives in ways we might not even be aware. Men and boys are forced every day to conform to expectations that strip away chances to be vulnerable and tell them to toughen up, which in turn effects the women and girls around them. And the horrors of conversion therapy are no myth, but a secret terror that has spread through the world largely unchecked.

I’ve been overwhelmed by all of the amazing reviews of the book that have come out this week. Here are a few of the latest:

~* 4.5 STARS from Joyfully Jay *~

“There’s such passion and intensity and a really thought-provoking story that’s wrapped within very hot and sexy packaging… I really enjoyed this story and it’s a book that just sucked me in from the very beginning.”

~* 5 STARS from Wicked Reads *~

“Even though I know that some of the most sensual scenes in romances can occur while a couple is fully dressed and not even within arm’s reach of one another, the way in which Kelling brings Adam’s theme of masculine vulnerability to life on the pages made those scenes far more intimate than I would have expected… I loved Bare and look forward to reading more of Kelling’s work.”

~* 5 STARS from Sinfully Sexy *~

“If you’ve never read Lynn Kelling because her dark or hardcore subject matter made you nervous, this is the book you should read… There is such beauty in this story and in Lynn Kelling’s words.”

~* 5 STARS from The Dark Arts *~

“I devoured this book from beginning to end, and loved every moment. Bare was definitely on the lighter side compared to what I’ve read from Lynn Kelling, but it still had a lot of the dark eroticism I love.”

~* 5 STARS from Prism Book Alliance *~

“This one was a total hit with me.”
